Movie Title : Love at the Christmas Table Release Year : 2012 Channel : Lifetime Lead Couple: Dustin Milligan as Sam and Danica McKellar as Kat Rating: 5 out of 5 Favorite Line: "She's the girl, she's always been the girl." Love at the Christmas Table is one of the first made-for-TV Christmas movies that I absolutely fell in love with; I try to watch it every time it's on! The thing about this movie that makes it unique is that it only takes place on Christmas Eve. For 27 years, we are privy to the growing pains of Sam and Kat as they grow up and try to figure out what they both want in life; but only on December 24th. I love stories where the main couple start off as friends, start seeing each other in a new light and then try to navigate their feelings and decide whether it's worth the risk to pursue that romantic relationship. Starring Danica McKellar (who was known for playing Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years and has since become ...

Hallmark's "Love at First Bark" Didn't Hold Much Bark

This past Saturday, the Hallmark channel debuted their Spring Fling movie campaign with the first movie, "Love at First Bark" starring Jana Kramer and Kevin McGarry. This was Jana's first foray into the world of Hallmark movies but Kevin McGarry could be seen in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From Paris with Love in 2015. I had a hard time getting into this movie and, to be honest, I ended up having the movie on as background noise. The only thing the movie seemed to have gotten right was the chemistry between Jana and Kevin. It wasn't explosive or gut clenching but it was subtle and very playful; their scene at the pool hall was so fun to watch! What didn't I like? 1. There was something about Jana's appearance I didn't like but I'm not sure what it was. It was either the blonde highlights she was sporting or the fake eyelashes though. 2. The dog was a serious dud. Yes he was cute but the dog was as calm as a cucumber and th...

'Beauty and the Beast', a Tale as Old as Time

There are few movies that Hollywood has been able to remake with such a level of excellence that they outshine and/or enhance the original. The 2017 remake of the 1991 Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast, is one of those movies. I saw this movie two weeks ago with my mom and sisters and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The 1991 version was one of the Disney classics we loved watching growing up so we were pretty excited when the remake was announced. We also were a little bit apprehensive because, lets be honest, Hollywood doesn't really have a good track record when it comes to making remakes! But, we were proven wrong with this one. What I loved most about the movie was how closely they followed the original movie (same story, same songs). Yes, they embellished the story a little and added more songs but it only enhanced the movie, not detract from it. In this version, you got to learn more about the backstories of Belle and the Beast and you got to see and feel them fall i...
